My History With Sports and Media

When I was younger, I always wrestled my brother in our living room. Having 4 years of age on him, I would always come out triumphant. Until my dad tapped in. At the young age of 8 I was humbled but now I see the importance that family plays in sports.

I was born and raised in the Midwest state Indiana where basketball is big, and corn is abundant. I grew with great parents who supported me academically and athletically. In middle school I developed a passion for running which eventually grew into a love for sports. I graduated with honors from a public high school and found another passion for digital media. Now that my high school running career is over, I enjoy other activities such as volleyball, basketball, and weight lifting. There is something about using our bodies and God-given abilities to compete that strikes my interest. Seeing hard work and training payoff when competing is so rewarding and something that I strive for myself and want for others. These payoffs are something that you can see in not only all sports but in life too.

After I shifted from only running to a variety of different sports I enjoy watching, learning, and practicing techniques and strategies for all sports. Although I’m not 8 and wrestling my brother and dad in the living room anymore, I still enjoy watching the sport. Following the Liberty University Club Wrestling team is something that I am excited for. I am ready to learn about the sport further than my knowledge of the living room and see my friends improve over the season. Wrestling is a sport that I don’t know much about in terms of matches, strategy, and scoring; however, I know I will learn these things very quickly and apply them into my writings.

Also growing up I grew a passion for digital media. Communicating online is a way that I found comfortable other than face to face communication. Blogging is a one of those ways to communicate online and I am excited to start. I am looking forward to following a sport that is new to me through the form of social media. My experience as a social media account manager will help me succeed in this process. My journey with the Liberty Club Wrestling team will be lively and informative because of my passion for sports and digital media.
