Impact

Looking back at my time in this class I can see the importance of truth in journalism. My social media news gathering skills improved as I consistently looked into the season of the wrestling team. While distributing content over multiple platforms I tuned my skills of correctly portraying results and insight on a team. While making content I felt that I had to balance the importance of truth while making quality, visually attractive images and writing. Audience engagement was stressed by the use of hashtags and mentions which I felt I knew but never applied personally in social media beforehand. This class made me realize the connection between the audience and creator is a two way exchange. Truth and journalism was stressed in this class and is something I prioritize. Personally as part of God's kingdom I have the responsibility to spread truth and be light to others. As a professional of social media, I see the opportunity to use platforms to spread truth. Not doing so would be a contradiction to the morals of a biblical worldview. This class has impacted my social media skills in a way that I feel ready to continue without the aid of the class.
